A new report has revealed that Resident Evil 4 Remake’s sales are higher than any of the current-gen remakes on Steam, XBOX and PlayStation.

Making remakes of old games is not a new trend in the gaming industry, but it has definitely blown up in recent times. We have already received multiple remakes in 2026 itself, with the likes of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Halo Campaign Evolved releasing recently. However, one remake stands on top of all others, and that’s Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Has Reportedly Sold 16.8 Million Copies

The latest sales figures for Resident Evil 4 Remake, as reported by Alinea Analytics, reveal that since its release in 2023, the game has sold 16.8 million copies across all platforms. Of these sales, 7.4 million copies were sold on PlayStation, 6.8 million on Steam, and 1.6 million on Xbox. Notably, 4 million of these sales occurred in 2026 alone. Additionally, the game has generated an impressive $560 million in gross revenue.

When comparing the current generation remakes, Resident Evil 4 Remake stands out as a leader in sales. Following it is Ark Survival Ascended, which has sold 7 million copies. In third place is The Last of Us Part 1 with 6.3 million copies sold. Next is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which has sold 4.5 million copies, followed by Dead Space with 4.3 million. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth comes in at 4.2 million copies, and finally, Silent Hill 2 has sold 3.2 million copies.
