Could you sleep at night, uncertain if your guests are truly human?

The Visitors seek refuge at your house as they flee the scorching heat, only to kill guests in their sleep. No, I’m not a Human, but those imposters won’t be so eager to tell you that as they beg to come inside.

A creepy mix of That’s Not my Neighbor and Mandela Catalogue, the uncanny world of No, I’m not a Human dives into the terrifying idea of imposters posing as human. Through physical qualities, dialogue, and signs issued on news reports, it’s down to you to determine whether the person at your doorstep is human or a Visitor.

Here is how to identify all Visitors in No, I’m not a Human. We have separated this guide into two; with the demo Visitors and Anthology Visitors. These are different as the Steam Next Fest demo has brand new features (randomization, energy drinks, achievements, and a radio), while the Anthology version has endings and a set guest order.

How to identify Visitors in No, I’m not a Human

It’s difficult to turn away a Visitor based on appearance alone. What’s worse is some humans say strange dialogue that could make you second guess them. If you let everyone in, however, then there are four signs you can look at as you progress through the nights. These are:

  • Teeth: Visitors have perfect white teeth.
  • Hands: Visitor hands have ripped fingernails, are dirty, or have dirt under the nails.
  • Eyes: Visitor eyes are either bloodshot or have a strange appearance.
  • Armpit: Visitor’s have hairless armpits.
  • Photo: Visitor’s face is blurred.

Keeping more Visitors than guests at once will result in one human casualty per night. Humans often explain why their appearance looks a certain way, while Visitors will say phrases like “it’s a disease.”

Let’s dive into every Visitor in No, I’m not a Human‘s demos.

Every Visitor in No, I’m not a Human (updated demo)

By default, you will always see the thin man and hunched woman on second night in following interacting with the Neighbor’s family. These characters almost act as an example of a guest and Visitor; where the thin man is always a guest and the hunched woman is a Visitor. You will face multiple moral dilemmas as you try to figure out who’s real and who isn’t (or whether this is all an extreme case of hysteria).

The night order and scripted moments are as follows:

  1. Neighbor
  2. Little girl (Neighbor’s daughter), thin man, and hunched man.
  3. Randomized guests and Visitors.
  4. Super Imposter and The Prophet.
  5. FEMA and the Neighbor’s little girl.
  6. Granny.

Aside from the Super Imposter, the hunched woman is so blatantly a Visitor because she fails every test. The strangest thing about her is that she has a traumatic past that she remembers vividly, yet cannot recall how she survived wandering around outside with the Sun blazing up above. Unlike the burnt man, she has no burn marks and perfectly white teeth (yet cannot recall going to the dentist). The scariest of all however is that she’s petrified that she may be a Visitor and desperately wants to survive.

Angry man

Much like plaid shirt in the Anthology version, the angry man has a lot of pent-up aggression towards the ongoing epidemic. While you may think he’s just got a lot going on, including how he takes his frustrations out on himself, checking his fingernails will tell you everything you need to know. The angry man has bloody and torn fingernails, with a bite mark on his left hand. This could be self-inflicted or more likely, his latest victim fighting back.

Amogus man

Not sure why Amogus guy’s is obsessed with swearing, but this Visitor is a tougher one to spot at the door due to his vocabulary choice. You can send him away based on the fact he’s literally walking around with an imposter label on him. But the clearest sign that he’s a Visitor are his eyes.

Mother

I immediately knew something was up with this character as four of her children went missing. She apparently doesn’t know what happened to them, but this is made worse when her fifth and final kid goes missing inside the house. As this happens during the day, we know the boy cannot go outside because of the Sun’s punishing rays. Yet the mother doesn’t seem that bothered he’s wondered off. Therefore, it’s highly likely she consumed her son. Lovely.

Wheelchair

The main sign with this character is that his fingers are missing. You cannot test whether his fingernails are dirty, but it’s his reaction that confirms his identity as a Visitor. He says he was only missing a finger “yesterday” and that they’ll grow back.

Fortune teller

The fortune teller is an obvious pick when you start looking for the signs, but it’s in her teeth and fingers where the Visitor identity is clear. With rows of teeth that make no sense and splinters impended into her palms, the fortune teller is a Visitor you can rid yourself of at the front door.

How to get the best ending in No, I’m not a Human (Anthology version)

Although No, I’m not a Human doesn’t include a cutscene in this version, you can note how well you’ve done based on the black screen text. This reveals whether you got a neutral, bad, or good ending based on your actions and who you let inside. While you can kill all Visitors after letting them in, you should turn them away at the door to get the best ending.

It’s highly likely you get the speedrun ending if you skip the dialogue and turn away the correct Visitors at the door, rather than the best ending. The best ending confirms all residents in your house are human, giving you peace of mind you have survived the outbreak (for now).

To summarize who you need to save and who you need to turn away, you should refer to the table below:

Night Let in Turn away at the door
Two Tall man with white shirt Hunched shoulder woman
Three Beer guy Cold woman
Four Surgeon and widow Amogus man
Five Little girl Suited man, bearded man with plaid shirt, and yellow shirt woman.

No, I’m not a Human is one of the four short horror games available on the Violent Horror Stories: Anthology. This isn’t the full release however. So, be sure to add No, I’m not a Human to your wishlist as a full version will include a randomized setting that expands on dialogue, providing more lore the further you get in the game.
