Xenoblade Genesis was shown off during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct presentation. It was teased as a brand-new story in the series, and cinematics were shown in a trailer. The game will be released in 2027. No official release date was shown.

More Xenoblade Announcements from June Nintendo Direct

In addition to the newly announced Genesis, several Xenoblade Chronicles games will be getting definitive Nintendo Switch 2 Editions. The Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition trilogy will be released on Switch 2 this year. The first game will be released digitally later today, with an upgrade pack available for those who bought the game on the original Nintendo Switch.

A physical version of the first game will be available on July 30. The second game will be available digitally on July 30 and physically on October 1. Finally, Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be available digitally and physically on December 3.
