XBOX CEO Won’t Confirm Elder Scrolls 6 Exclusivity

Will The Elder Scrolls 6 be a console exclusive for XBOX? Bethesda has not announced whether The Elder Scrolls 6 will be console-exclusive. At Gamescom 2026, CEO Asha Sharma declined to confirm its platform status when asked directly.

The Elder Scrolls 6 has been in development for nearly a decade. It was first announced at E3 in 2018, and there is still very little information about the game. As development continues, Xbox is undergoing its own major reset. Part of that reset includes a reevaluated approach to console exclusivity for its hardware.

During an interview with the BBC at Gamescom 2026, Asha was asked about whether or not players could expect the sixth Elder Scrolls game to be a console exclusive. She wouldn’t commit one way or the other but did acknowledge that it’s a beautiful game.

“I think we are one of the largest publishers in the world. We are increasingly going to be one of the largest platforms in the world. Every platform needs some form of exclusive experiences and content. What we’ve shared is Gears [of War: E-Day] and Clockwork [Revolution]. We’re going to do the best we can to continue to do that, all in the context of the business being healthy, so we have to balance that… It’s a beautiful game.”

Mostly, she was just happy that they didn’t ask about the game’s subtitle. Some fans think they’ve figured out what the title will be, though.
