BULKHEAD, the developer behind WARDOGS, the ambitious, large-scale first-person shooter, has confirmed that a console release for the game is planned for 2028. With a new action-packed trailer, the team celebrated the game’s early access release, which lands today on PC.

It was then stressed that WARDOGS will be coming to PlayStation 5 and XBOX platforms in 2028, and from today, the game can be wishlisted on those associated platforms.

WARDOGS Hits Consoles in 2028, Team Says

In a statement, BULKHEAD’s CEO, Joe Brammer, said:

WARDOGS is ambitious, rough around the edges, and still has a long way to go, but that is exactly what Early Access should be.

We’re putting the game in players’ hands, listening to what they tell us and taking the risks needed to turn it into something that can last. More than anything, we want people to get online, talk to each other, and have the kind of fun in an FPS that we grew up having.

WARDOGS has managed to hit lofty player counts during early playtests, racking up hundreds of thousands of concurrent users all eager to explore this unique, exciting shooter atmosphere. It helps that the game has secured a powerful stake in the creator space, with many top-tier streamers falling in love with the emergent gameplay it offers.

Today, WARDOGS enters early access exclusively on PC, adopting a $39.99 price point. The team has pledged to offer zero microtransactions during the early access window, instead opting for that price tag that some might think is a little high for an online, early access shooter.

But it’s a lower price point than the team endeavours to apply at 1.0, whenever that will be.

WARDOGS launches on Steam at 4 PM UTC today. Will you be playing? Let us know your thoughts on the Insider Gaming Discord server.
