The start and end dates for all Apex Legends seasons

Each new season in Apex Legends brings new ways to enjoy the game. From fresh maps to character introductions, powerful guns, and more, there’s always something to look forward to at the start of every season.

Apex seasons last roughly three months, so whether you’re looking to end the ranked split on a high note or simply complete your battle pass, it’s imperative you know exactly when one season ends.

The most recent season, called Prodigy, kicked off on May 6, 2025. Prodigy brought new arrival, Sparrow, alongside Pathfinder buffs, and the Bocek Compound Bow’s return as floor loot.

All Apex Legends seasons start and end dates

Since the game’s release on Feb. 4, 2019, there have been a total of 26 seasons, including the Preseason. It wasn’t until Wild Frontier—the first official season that released on March 19, over a month after the game’s surprise arrival on live servers—that fans got battle passes. In season two, Respawn Entertainment introduced ranked play, giving competitive players a way to build their skills.

From then on, fans have been treated to a number of changes to the base game with each new season. Apex looks wildly different from when it initially launched, now having 27 legends, five battle royale maps, and 29 weapons—a significant increase in each category compared to the game’s early days.

Here are all the seasons in Apex and their durations as of May 2025.

How long is season 25 of Apex Legends?

The in-game counter for season 25 indicates the season will go for 91 days, or three months. That means season 25 will end on approximately July 5, 2025 with Prodigy split occurring in 49 days, or June 24.

Like previous seasons, season 26 will immediately start once Prodigy ends. Keep an eye on the Apex YouTube channel in the days leading up to season 25’s end for more information on the upcoming season.

What’s new in Apex’s season 25?

The main addition to Prodigy is the arrival of new legend, Sparrow. He is a Recon character with unique mobility like Ash. This is a change in the right direction, where more legends outside of the Skirmisher class are getting movement upgrades, keeping things exciting and fresh. Although Crypto is viewed as the only true strong Recon character as of season 24’s conclusion, Sparrow will likely fill the Recon spot as new legends are often broken upon launch. Nerfs should be expecting in the coming weeks, but you can test Sparrow out for the first two weeks of Prodigy.

Outside of this, Sparrow’s main weapon (the Bocek) returns to the floor, making room in the Care Package for something new—being the Triple Take. Pathfinder finally received a much-deserved buff in his kit, hopefully bringing him back into the comp scene. Assault and Skirmisher Class unique abilities have been nerfed slightly and Ash has seen balance changes. Most interesting, both the Bocek and Havoc exit the Care Package, with Triple Take taking their place. Surely this increases the spawn chance of the Kraber? Only time will tell.
