The Legend of Zelda series celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and Nintendo is celebrating the landmark by releasing a special edition Nintendo Switch 2 console.
After 27 years, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is being remade and, to celebrate, a new special edition console has been revealed, alongside other accessories.
Special Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Revealed
Nintendo revealed a first look at the special edition The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 console at a special showcase dedicated to the series’ anniversary, which came alongside a plethora of other news for the series.
Releasing October 29, the Switch 2’s design includes a new-look for the console itself, the docking station, and joy-cons, with an accompanying Switch 2 Pro Controller and Carrying Case receiving similar vibes.
There is also a Nintendo Online Store exclusive available featuring the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and a display stand, which also releases on the same date.
International pricing has not yet been shared, but a press release in Japan listed the Switch 2 console at 62,980 Yen, around $403, with the Pro Controller and Display Stand priced at 12,980 Yen ($83), and the carry case at 3,980 Yen ($25).
These prices are not exact, however, and conversions for the international market could be higher in contrast, especially as a standard Switch 2 is priced at $499.99, so don’t take those prices as fixed.
When more precise details are available, Insider Gaming will be sure to provide all the latest information.
