Team Heretics has made more adjustments to its League of Legends coaching staff ahead of the LEC Summer Split.

Back in May, Erlend ‘Nukeduck’ Våtevik Holm became Team Heretics new LEC head coach after the team’s disastrous season.

Now, the organisation has further strengthened its coaching staff by signing legendary former Fnatic toplaner Paul ‘sOAZ’ Boyer as a positional coach.

Meanwhile, another former Fnatic pro, Fabian ‘Febiven’ Diepstraten, has been relieved of his positional coach role with the organisation.

Team Heretics Invest Heavily to Try to Save Their LEC Season

Having finished fourth during the LEC Versus regular season, Heretics’ long-term project looked like it was off to a great start.

But after underperforming in the Playoffs, the team started making roster changes, and things fell apart.

Heretics then proceeded to finish dead last in Spring, winning just one series and three out of 20 individual games.

Following various changes, the team looks very different to how it did at the start of the year.

Heretics’ Summer roster will be:

  • Top – Tracyn
  • Jungle – Daglas
  • Mid – Serin
  • Bot – Hype
  • Support – Way

After star jungler Théo ‘Sheo’ Borile stepped down from Team Heretics and joined Shifters, the team promoted Kacper ‘Daglas’ Dagiel from its academy.

Additionally, Heretics signed former Misa Esports botlaner Byeon ‘Hype’ Jeong-hyeon to replace Yoon ‘Ice’ Sang-hoon for the summer.

By how team director Niklas Geiß spoke, it sounds like sOAZ has been working with rookie toplaner Sebastian ‘Tracyn’ Wojtoń for a while now but was this was only just publically confirmed.

sOAZ is a former Worlds finalist and previously worked as a positional coach with NRG when the North American team qualified for Worlds in 2023.

However, sOAZ has not had a coaching role for over a year after leaving NRG after the 2024 season.

Meanwhile, Geiß also confirmed that Febiven was let go as mid lane positional coach because Nukeduck has enough knowledge about the role having played there himself.

According to the director, Heretics now has 12 members of staff working with the team in Berlin while sOAZ works remotely.
