Quantic Dream has issued a new statement reassuring players that the development of Star Wars Eclipse is progressing as scheduled. This follows recent claims by striking staff members that they require additional resources and are understaffed.
Following the studio’s decision to discontinue the development of Spellcaster Chronicles, Insider Gaming reported that the revenue that the game would generate would help fund the development of the forthcoming Star Wars title. It was also previously reported that the development of Eclipse was going very slowly.
Then, one of the striking developers said that at least 115 individuals from the previous project could be brought on board to assist with this game’s release and that it wouldn’t be overstaffing at all. Rather, it would be giving the team what it needs. Now, the studio insists that, despite these claims, the development of Star Wars Eclipse is where it needs to be and that there are enough resources to cross the finish line.
Quantic Dream Says Star Wars Eclipse Has Enough Resources

Per a new statement given to IGN, Quantic Dream believes that the development team has everything it needs to succeed. They insist that the team has their full commitment and the necessary resources needed to complete “its mission.” Also, they state that their priority is to care for employees affected by the recent restructuring.
As previously stated, the development of Star Wars Eclipse remains unaffected by the recent closure of Spellcasters Chronicles, a decision driven by the challenging market conditions in that segment.
The development of Star Wars Eclipse is continuing as planned, with the full commitment of its team and all the necessary resources to complete its mission.
Our priority is to ensure that employees affected by the restructuring process receive the appropriate support, care, and consideration. Out of respect for this ongoing process and for the employees concerned, we will not provide any further comment at this stage.
In February 2025, reports claimed that the game’s development was unaffected by NetEase’s acquisition of Quantic Dream. Insider Gaming had previously reported that Quantic Dream was acquired for approximately 100 million euros.
