Some really unfortunate news has arrived: Tom Kane, the voice actor for popular video game franchises such as Star Wars and Call of Duty, has passed away.
Tom Kane is a highly popular American voice actor who has lent his voice across a variety of video games and animated series. Kane’s most popular work included the Star Wars franchise, in which he played iconic characters such as Yoda, Admiral Ackbar, Boba Fett, and Qui-Gon Jinn.
Call of Duty’s Tom Kane Has Died
A new report from TMZ confirms the passing of Tom Kane, who died today, May 18. According to his representative, Zach McGinnis, Kane passed away in a hospital in Kansas City due to complications from a stroke he suffered in 2020. He had his family by his side at the time of his death. McGinnis also shared, “Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever.”
Tom Kane has had a vibrant career in the video game industry, with his voice featured in numerous popular franchises. He has been involved in video games since the 1990s, contributing to many Star Wars titles and portraying iconic characters from the franchise. Additionally, Kane has voiced characters such as Jim Gordon in “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” Takeo Masaki and Dr. Schuster in the “Call of Duty: Black Ops” series, Magneto in “Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds,” and many others.
