Square Enix Operating Income Rises by 88% In Latest Earnings

Square Enix’s latest earnings report is live, and it reveals that Operating Income and Net Sales were both up thanks to FF7 Rebirth, FF14 expansion, and more.

Square Enix has a lot going for it in the first quarter, with the arrival of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for additional platforms and a new expansion for Final Fantasy 14. These two, along with additions in their mobile business, have helped them experience a profitable first quarter. Learn more details about the earnings report below:

Square Enix Financial Results Reveal Increased Operating Income and Net Sales

Thanks to a new post by Genki_JPN on X (formerly Twitter), we have an update on Square Enix’s latest financial results. Operating income has increased by 88.6%, while net sales have risen by 32.3%. In other areas, publication net sales increased 11%, amusement net sales grew 3.8%, and merchandising net sales rose 22.3%.

It was revealed that strong performance from the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series consoles, along with The Adventures of Elliot, contributed to an increase in net sales and profits for HD games. Additionally, the growth in sales of catalog titles also played a role in this boost.

In the MMO segment, year-over-year sales and profits have increased, largely due to the announcement of the new Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Evercold. Additionally, the sales and profits for Games on Smart Devices and PC Browsers have also risen, thanks to the launch of the free-to-play 3v3 team boss battle arena mobile game, Dissidia Duellum: Final Fantasy, and the free-to-play action roguelite, Dragon Quest Smash/Grow.
