Sony is starting to remove social media posts promoting Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). Specifically, they’re removing posts promoting the game on the PlayStation 5 (PS5).
After a plethora of information on GTA 6 was released early Wednesday, including pricing and some feature restrictions, Sony released a blog that mentions PS5 being the “best” place to play the upcoming game from Rockstar. Now, just hours later, social media posts promoting the blog are being taken down.
The Blog Post Remains Up
It was noticed by fans online that Sony has removed posts on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and more. However, the blog post remains available. It also still has the same headline of “Grand Theft Auto VI plays best on PS5 November 19”.
It also includes all the phrasing suggesting a marketing partnership between PlayStation and Rockstar Games.
“Thanks to the close partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI will play best on PS5 by taking advantage of PS5’s immersive features to deliver a deeply engaging single-player experience when it launches on November 19,” the blog post reads.
Neither PlayStation nor Rockstar has commented on the post removals. Maybe it’s nothing, or maybe it wasn’t meant to go up the way it did originally. We’ll find out soon as the November 19 release day gets closer and marketing of the game picks up.
