An ESRB rating for Silent Hill: Townfall has surfaced online, and it’s right before tonight’s PlayStation State of Play event, so a release date announcement could be close.
It has been some time since we heard about Silent Hill: Townfall. The last time we heard about it was during the ‘Transmission‘ event, when we saw some new details. However, now that the title’s hype has increased, players can’t wait for a release date announcement, and hopefully, Konami will announce one soon.
Silent Hill: Townfall Rated ‘M’ by ESRB
Spotted by MP1ST, a new rating for Silent Hill: Townfall has been listed on the ESRB’s website. The game has been rated ‘M’ for Mature and carries an age rating of 17+ due to blood, strong language, and violence. The game has been rated for Windows PC and PlayStation 5; no other platforms were listed.
The rating summary also provides players with information about the title, noting that it is a survival horror game in which you try to escape a fictional town in Scotland. It includes “realistic gunfire and large blood splatter effects,” which can affect the surrounding environment.
There are also two cutscene instances mentioned: one with a “close-up depiction of a character stabbing a body,” and one of “a man being eaten by a monster”. Players will also see characters mentioning the word “f**k” in the game. Other stuff was basic information, such as exploring locations, solving puzzles, using weapons, jump scares, and more.
In other news, Sony’s upcoming PlayStation State of Play event will be shown on big screens as a live fan theatrical event and will last 90 minutes.
