The legendary Sam Neill filmed a role for the upcoming Legend of Zelda movie before his passing. The actor, known for his performances in Jurassic Park and Peaky Blinders, passed away on July 13th at the age of 78.
A new report from Deadline confirms that he filmed a role for the upcoming film based on the long-running Nintendo franchise before his passing. Details remain under wraps. The film wrapped in April and may be his final performance.
Other Casting Additions to the Zelda Movie

Additionally, Deadline confirms that the cast will also include Dichen Lachman and Yvonne Strahovski. Lachman is known for playing Ms. Casey in the Apple TV series Severance. She will play Impa, the advisor to Princess Zelda, who is played by Bo Bragason in the movie. It is not yet known who Strahovski will play.
The film’s lead is Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who will play Link, the guardian of Hyrule. The movie is set to release on April 30, 2027, after being pushed up from its original May 7 release date.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Is Coming, But Details Are Scarce
In the gaming space, the next big move for the Zelda franchise is the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Nearly 30 years after its official release on the Nintendo 64, it is being reimagined for the Nintendo Switch 2.
As of yet, it is not known how much will change in the upcoming remake. An official release date is also unknown at this time. Insider Gaming will continue to monitor the story and report any updates as more information becomes available.
