Pokémon Champions‘ next update will add 26 new Pokémon, as confirmed by a now-deleted tweet from the Nintendo of America account.
Regulation Set M-C is the third expansion to the Pokémon battler’s roster, with a heavy focus on Z Mega Evolutions.
Mega Garchomp Z, Mega Lucario Z, and Mega Absol Z have been confirmed as part of the new set alongside Rillaboom and Baxcalibur.
That leaves another 21 slots to fill in the game that already has 208 mons and 75 Mega Evolutions.
Everything We Know About Pokémon Champions M-C
Regulation Set M-C is going to release on September 09, 2026 and will signal the start of a new ranked season.
That ranked season will then last until December 02, 2026.
The upcoming Z Mega Evolutions have all had their new abilities confirmed too.
Mega Absol Z will have Sharpness, giving a 50% boost to slicing moves like Shadow Claw or Night Slash.
Mega Garchomp Z will have Levitate, which makes it immune to Ground-type damage and lets it avoid Spikes and Toxic Spikes.
And Mega Lucario Z will have a new ability called Aura Break, which halves damage from contact moves.
Meanwhile, competitive VGC players are excited by the inclusion of Rillaboom, which will likely shake the meta with the introduction of a Terrain-setting ability.
Because of this, other terrain setters like Indeedee and Pinchurchin are expected.
And many fans also expect the other two Galarian starters, Inteleon and Cinderace, to be added.
And there will likely be more Mega Evolutions added, with the possible options being:
- Salamence
- Scolipede
- Barbaracle
- Golisopod
- Falinks
- Tatsugiri
- Baxcalibur
With Baxcalibur confirmed, it seems likely that its Mega Stone will also be included.
Meanwhile, Tatsugiri balloons were spotted in the Pokémon VGC World Championships’ exclusive arena, leading to speculation it and its Mega will also be added.
