PlayStation Mentions ‘Adjustments’ to FY26 First-Party Roadmap

Sony mentioned ‘adjustments’ to PlayStation’s first-party roadmap on its latest earnings call, suggesting a change in plans for upcoming projects.

The latest earnings call included many details; however, the main focus was Sony’s response to fan backlash over its decision to cease production of physical discs for PlayStation games in 2028. Additionally, the report mentioned a potential adjustment to their roadmap for first-party games.

Which PlayStation Project Could Have Been Adjusted?

Stephen Totilo from GameFile (via Gameranx) highlighted that Sony indicated they could have achieved a higher operating income this year. However, one reason cited for their performance was the “impact of adjustments to the FY26 first-party title roadmap.” This suggests there may be cancellations or delays of games or expansions in the FY26 release schedule.

Currently, the officially announced titles with release dates in PlayStation’s first-party roadmap for FY26 include Marvel’s Wolverine, scheduled for release on September 15, and God of War: Laufey, set to launch on February 16, 2027. The adjustment could also have been for unannounced games or expansions. It could also be a game that hasn’t received a release date yet. However, as of the latest updates, both Marvel’s Wolverine and God of War: Laufey are expected to release on their planned dates. Sony didn’t specify which projects had been adjusted.

Sony also addressed the impact of memory issues on PlayStation 5 hardware, stating, “We have secured the quantity of memory necessary to meet our projected sales volume for FY26, and there is no change to our plan for hardware profitability for FY26 to remain similar to FY25.”
