SEGA has confirmed that Persona 6 will have physical copies; however, they will only be available on PS5.
The next big installment in SEGA’s JRPG series was announced during the XBOX Games Showcase earlier this year, and players have been eagerly waiting for any more information they can get about it. Today, SEGA made a brand-new announcement that doesn’t include a release window, but does feature physical copies.
Persona 6 Could Release in 2027 Due to Physical Release

Spotted by Genki_JPN on X (formerly Twitter), Sega has revealed that Persona 6 will be available as a physical copy; however, there’s a catch. The game is set to release on XBOX Game Pass, the Series X/S consoles, PC, and PlayStation 5, but only the PS5 version will get a physical release, which is surprising, as they were the first to denounce discs.
The physical release announcement also supports rumors that Persona 6 will release earlier rather than later. The game has already been rated, and rumors claim it will release in 2027, which could make sense, considering Sony will stop producing discs in 2028. However, it could be sooner or later; at the moment, nothing has been officially confirmed other than the physical release on PS5.
From what we know about the game, players will be experiencing an all-new tale in a never-before-seen locale, where players will come across some “unique worldbuilding and innovative gameplay”, which doesn’t really offer much, but the new region and gameplay mechanics do sound good.
