Paper Rex set the tone for VCT Champions 2026 after a 2:1 series against Team Liquid

VALORANT Champions 2026 opening day starred Paper Rex and Team Liquid. Despite TL’s attempts and a not-so-favorable map pool, PRX closed out the series 2:1.

PRX is the first team qualified for VCT Champions 2026 and one of the strongest VALORANT teams. They haven’t had the cleanest Stage 2 run, but PRX had already qualified for Champs by then. On the other hand, TL fought through the lower Stage 2 bracket to reach Champs and looked confident. The team also had a last-minute roster change, with Ognjen “GSR” Bondžić taking Semyon “purp0” Borchev’s place.
