Pocketpair has posted a new update stating that disabling mods in Palworld 1.0 is not enough.
Palworld 1.0, the full release of the game, is set to launch tomorrow. The developers are preparing the largest patch for the game, and ahead of the release, they have provided players with important instructions to ensure a smooth experience. Their advice to the players is to remove any existing mods from the game.
Palworld 1.0 Cannot Officially Approve or Guarantee the Functionality of All Mods
Spotted by PCGamer, Pocketpair reveals that “due to legal and game design considerations, we are unable to officially approve or guarantee the functionality of all mods” for Palworld 1.0. They have stated that using mods will be entirely at players’ own risk.
Mods could also cause problems that lead to corruption/loss of save data and negatively impact the game’s functionality. Additionally, a save file with mods enabled will retain these issues even after the mods are disabled. The devs will also not provide any tech support for mod issues and have informed players that some mods may contain malicious software.
Palworld 1.0 Devs Explain How to Delete Mods
Before providing steps to delete mods for Palworld 1.0, the developers have stated that “simply turning mods ‘off’ or ‘disabling’ them is not enough. Pocketpair explains that some files and loaders might still load when the game launches even if they have been disabled. Hence, players have been advised to manually delete mods before updating to Palworld 1.0. You can check out the guide here.
Additionally, the developers have explicitly stated that enabling mods on multiplayer servers is strictly prohibited and that doing so could result in account suspension. A similar action will be taken on non-official servers.
