Over 60% of Gamers Think GTA 6 Will Cost More Than $70

That’s according to a new poll carried out on Twitter, where over 10,000 gamers have already participated.

At the time of writing, over 10,000 people have cast their vote on a poll I ran on Twitter, asking how much they think GTA 6 will cost.

Gamers Think GTA 6 Will Cost More Than $70

The poll gave four different options: $70, $80, $90, and $100.

Surprisingly, only 37.7% of people at the time of writing think that Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost $70, which is the standard price point for most AAA games.

40% believe the game will cost $80, while 31.1% think it will cost $90. What’s a bit more shocking is that 9.1%, which is 910 of the 10,000 who answered, think the game will cost $100.

As of the time of writing, neither Take-Two Interactive nor Rockstar Games has commented on how much GTA 6 will cost, but, as expected, rumors of fake pricing have circulated online over the past couple of days.

GTA 6 Pre-Orders will thankfully open on Thursday, though, so we won’t have long to wait to see where they land on the cost of GTA 6.

The price of GTA 6 could be a console-game pricing event; if the game is set at more than $70, it will likely mean the industry will follow suit. Nintendo has already started pricing games at $80, albeit only the one so far, and Xbox tried to price their AAA games at $80 before backtracking on the decision.

But if GTA 6 costs $80 and generates billions of dollars in revenue (as it will), it undoubtedly sends a message to executives: gamers are willing to part with more of their money. Of course, GTA 6 probably does warrant that $80 price tag and not all AAA games will, but one thing that is certain, executives and investors don’t really care about that… They see dollar signs.
