Resident Evil 2, 3 & 4 Remakes Could Release for the Switch 2 in 2026
The claim regarding the remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 coming to the Switch 2 originates from a reply on X (formerly Twitter) by the reliable insider NateTheHate. When asked about these titles, the insider confirmed that plans are in place for their release on Nintendo’s latest console. Additionally, when questioned about the release window for the remakes, NateTheHate mentioned that, according to the “last plan,” they are scheduled for 2026.
The Resident Evil Remake trilogy has been out there for some time, with the second part releasing in 2019, the third in 2020, and the fourth in 2023. All three games have been rebuilt on Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, which was also used to create the latest installment, Resident Evil Requiem. The latest installment in the remake trilogy takes place 6 years after the Raccoon City disaster, when Leon S. Kennedy is sent to rescue the president’s kidnapped daughter.
Players should note that developers are yet to officially confirm the release of the Resident Evil Remakes for Switch 2.
In other news, a producer on the Resident Evil franchise has tipped a future game to be set in Japan, a location the series has yet to visit. Additionally, a bunch of Resident Evil Requiem cut content has been revealed through a new datamine. What are your thoughts on the new Resident Evil Remakes coming to Switch 2?
