Nintendo made huge steps forward wth the Nintendo Switch 2, as the direct successor to the original Switch has vastly upgraded hardware, performance, and graphical capabilities. A fresh Switch model with a new screen has been spotted online, and it could potentially fix one key issue with current screens.

We expect to see new and improved Nintendo Switch 2 models as time goes on. Prices are going up, and parts are getting more expensive, but Nintendo will always try to upgrade its baby.

Nintendo Patents Watch has commented on social media about an interesting find concerning a new Switch 2.

There’s a lot of jargon about the design and product, but the account and commenters believe that the key functionality of its new LCD screen is to eliminate the ghosting issue of the Switch 2.

Ghosting is a blurring issue where a trail of blurry pixels (or a ghost) momentarily appears on the screen before disappearing.

Here’s what Nintendo Patents Watch had to say about the new design:

‘A new model of Switch 2 LCD panel, most likely by Sharp, has surfaced on a Chinese resale site (img 1). Compared with the launch model from Innolux (img 2), the exposed circuit, connector, and cables are significantly different (imgs 3-4), indicating an updated design—not merely a minor revision.’

They also added: ‘It isn’t clear atm whether the launch model has been phased out, or Nintendo is now dual sourcing. So don’t rush out to buy a new Switch 2 yet. And since I don’t know the legality of the aforementioned resale listings, I won’t share the links here.’

This follows recent news that Nintendo has announced new Switch 2 hardware with replaceable batteries.

Whichever Switch 2 consoles we have or end up getting, know that the Ocarina of Time Remake should look outstanding on any of them!
