New God Of War Game Revealed During Sony State Of Play Showcase

After months of rumors and speculation, a new God of War game has been unveiled during the June 2026 Sony State of Play, titled God of War Laufey, and yes, Faye will be the leading protagonist.

Played by returning actress Deborah Ann Woll, the game seems to follow Faye as she navigates the afterlife, after her passing in the first God of War in the Norse saga. Creatures and characters from various mythologies appear as she tries to navigate the strange new world.

The State of Play closed with over 20 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay of the new title, as what appears to be the opening moments for God of War Laufey were revealed.

From compelling cutscenes to free-slowing combat, the game seems distinctly Santa Monica, whilst still bringing its own unique differences. Faye seems faster and more fluid compared to Kratos’ heavy-hitting combos.
