Mortal Shell 2 finally has an official release date. After previously being locked in for a 2026 launch, the soulslike sequel is now confirmed to arrive on August 20, 2026.
The announcement was accompanied by a brand-new trailer, which also reaffirmed that the game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Alongside the release date, Playstack also unveiled the game’s Devout Edition and Revered Edition, giving you a choice of premium versions ahead of launch.
Mortal Shell 2 Set To Dodge Stacked September
It’s common knowledge at this point that every game is avoiding a November release window like the plague, all thanks to the mighty titan that is Grand Theft Auto 6. That’s led to plenty of titles opting for a September or October release window, with the likes of Control Resonant and Marvel’s Wolverine just two of the most anticipated.
Fortunately for Playstack, Mortal Shell 2 will arrive just ahead of that rush, launching on August 20.
Those of you eager to jump in early can do so by pre-ordering the Devout Edition, which includes 72 hours of early access, allowing you to begin your journey three days before the standard release.
And if you’re after a collector’s item, you can instead opt for the Revered Edition, a physical bundle that includes a steelbook, a selection of fine art prints, and an artbook celebrating the game’s dark fantasy world.
The release date reveal came with a fresh new cinematic trailer for the game—check it out below:
