At Summer Game Fest 2026, Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Wilds’s Ascendance DLC is all set to release in 2027.
Players were already informed that Monster Hunter Wilds would receive a “large-scale expansion” like Iceborne and Sunbreak soon; however, there was no idea what it would be or when it would be released. Now, players have been informed it’s about ascending to a higher plane.
Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance DLC Brings Flying Into the Picture
A new gameplay trailer was unveiled for Monster Hunters Wild’s Ascendance DLC, with players getting an idea of some of the mechanics that will come into play. It seems players will be able to take flight by controlling bird-like creatures that hop, skip, jump, and glide across a variety of terrains. The trailer also showcases a whole new world above the sky, unknown to everyone until now, featuring massive heights that the player would need to scale.
With a new world, players will also get new monsters to hunt, with aerial battles proving to be a serious challenge. It seems that players will also receive some extra firepower to take on the new types of enemies. The trailer also teases a creature that can affect the environment with just its presence. It seems like players will be taking on an Elder Dragon in the upcoming DLC. Several other threatening creatures were showcased as well. Check out the trailer below:
