A Nintendo Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds has been officially announced by Capcom.

Monster Hunter Wilds is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement was made by Capcom on June 5 via social media. No official release date was given.

For those who have been tracking the game, this is not the craziest outcome. Rumors had circulated for quite some time about a Nintendo Switch 2 port of the most recent Monster Hunter game. Then, in January, dataminers revealed that the game had a graphics preset for Nintendo’s latest console. That datamine showed the game would run at 30 FPS with DLSS enabled and at 1080p when docked.

Supposedly, this would give the game “better fidelity” than the ‘very low’ graphics preset on the PC version. Still, it was all rumors until the social media team officially confirmed that the game was coming to Switch 2.

During the 2026 Summer Games Fest showcase, new DLC for the game was announced. A massive expansion called Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendants will be released in 2027. This update will feature a continuation of the game’s story, new areas and monsters, the introduction of master-rank quests, and more.

No specific release date was announced for that expansion either. Insider Gaming will continue to monitor the story and report any updates as more information becomes available. Check out everything announced during Summer Games Fest here.
