MiniBoo Steps Away from Team Liquid’s Active Roster

Team Liquid has announced that Dominykas ‘MiniBoo’ Lukaševičius had stepped away from Team Liquid’s active Valorant roster ahead of their VCT EMEA Stage 2 campaign.

The organization communicated that MiniBoo made the decision himself to take “time to reflect on and plan his future as a player.”

MiniBoo moves to Team Liquid’s inactive roster

MiniBoo joined Team Liquid in December 2025, after leaving Team Heretics, where he played with his older brother Ričardas ‘Boo’ Lukaševičius since 2023.

At Team Liquid, MiniBoo finished third in VCT 2206 EMEA Kickoff, qualifying to Valorant Masters Santiago, but they only managed a 7th-8th place finish at VCT EMEA Stage 1, missing out on Valorant Masters London.

Liquid released the following statement, informing fans of MiniBoo’s decision to move to the bench:

“Miniboo will no longer be playing for Team Liquid heading into Stage 2. Domi requested to be moved to the bench as he takes time to reflect on and plan his future as a player.

“We are grateful for all the hard work, dedication, and success he brought to the team. He was a key part of our fast-paced playstyle and a constant source of positive energy within the team environment.

“We have full confidence in our players, coaching staff, and captain as we turn our attention to the next challenges ahead. Stage 2 success is important to us.”

The decision leaves Liquid with only three active players on their current roster, with VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 2 set to begin on July 15.

Liquid suffers severely from disrupted off-season

The announcement is yet another blow to a Liquid roster whose off-season has been severely disrupted by multiple issues.

MiniBoo is the second part of the Liquid roster to voluntarily step away from the active Team Liquid Valorant roster in June.

19-year-old Singaporean Controller/Sentinel player Wayne ‘wayne’ Chang left the active roster on June 5 after a similar announcement by the organization.

At that time, Team Liquid shared, “Today, we are announcing that Wayne is taking a break from competitive play and will return home to Singapore.

“Well-being comes before anything else, and we fully support him taking this step to rest and recharge. Wayne, thank you for your dedication and for being such an amazing teammate to everyone here.

That announcement followed Liquid’s elimination from the Esports World Cup 2026 Valorant qualifiers, itself a campaign disrupted by unfortunate health issues.

Liquid had to play their first match of that qualifier without their captain Ayaz ‘nAts’ Akhmetshin, due to health issues. Liquid lost to Gentle Mates in the Upper Bracket in his absence.

nAts later revealed that he had suffered appendicitis, for which he received surgery. The Russian IGL heroically played the lower-bracket contest mere hours after his surgery, but Liquid were unable to overcome NAVI, eliminating them from EWC contention.

The culmination of events means that Liquid sits with only three active players, with less than three weeks until their VCT EMEA Stage 2 campaign begins.

The roster missed out on Valorant Masters London qualification but did qualify for the Valorant Masters Santiago. The result is that Liquid currently sits joint-fifth in the VCT Points, giving them a possible path to Valorant Champions Shanghai if they can deliver a strong Stage 2 showing.

All eyes will now turn to the transfer plans of the international organization as they aim to salvage their season after losing their second piece this month.
