In a new video on YouTube, he explains why he feels disconnected from the modern community and why he’s choosing to spend less time engaging with fighting game X (formerly Twitter).
Max calls this part of the community FGX (for Fighting Game X), where almost every discussion revolves around something another player or content creator has said, implied, or did. He believes the constant negativity also creates a poor impression for newcomers, who might be interested in trying a fighting game only to find its own players complaining about how terrible it is. He especially points out Tekken as a community where this behavior has been particularly common. As someone who used to work for a fighting game media website and helped host FGC events, I can only echo this sentiment, as Max hit the nail on the head, especially with the Tekken community.
