There’s a lot that goes into fighting games, but arguably the most important aspect is the character roster. A good line-up can make or break a game before it even releases, and for a franchise as vast as Marvel, it’s definitely tough to whittle the hundreds of options down into a complete launch package.

Well, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is the latest Marvel game to tackle this, and the full roster of characters has now been revealed. It’s certainly a healthy mix of the faces of the franchise partnered with some more niche picks, but most importantly, the characters seem to cater to a variety of playstyles.

With the game releasing in August, it’s time to start thinking about which characters you’re going to main in this 4v4 tag-fighter, so here’s every team and character in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.

How Many Characters In Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls?

The base roster for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will include 20 playable characters, each split into five different teams.

Arc System Works has slowly been drip-feeding character reveals in the lead-up to the game’s release, but it has long been known that 20 characters would eventually fill the roster. They’re split into five teams, which are as follows:

• Unbreakable X-Men
• Amazing Guardians
• Fighting Avengers
• Knights of Doom
• Samurai Outriders

That said, as you learn certain characters and form your own group of four, the game will create a unique team name to fit your line-up! It seems to work based on your ‘point’ character, with the first word based off of them, and the second determined by the rest of the group.

Some examples seen so far include Hellbound Mages and Cybernetic Fliers, with the point characters being Magik and Danger, respectively. Though this has no impact on gameplay, it can create some exciting team dynamics, but that all depends on the full roster, which you can see for yourself down below.

Will Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Have DLC?

It’s been confirmed that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will have DLC, with the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass already advertised.

Included in the pass will be four more characters and a brand-new stage. Odds are that they’ll form an additional team, though, as things stand, there aren’t any leaks about which characters could be added, or whether there will be future character passes.

That said, there are countless Marvel characters that could find their way into the roster; just take a look at Marvel Rivals and how that line-up continues to increase month by month—Tokon will be spoilt for choice.
