Escape from Tarkov launched out of early access in November 2025 and became a 1.0 title, graduating from almost a decade of development and moving into the game’s next chapter. Even though that milestone came and went, the game still faces a massive roadmap, one that includes the game’s first expansions in the form of DLC drops.
The first has been dubbed ‘Scav Life’, while the second is focused on an in-game clan system. Neither piece of DLC has been explained at any point, but we have some tidbits that go towards them. However, during a recent episode of Tarkov TV, Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio behind the game, revealed that the release date for these expansions has been pushed.
Delaying The Unconfirmed
Escape from Tarkov’s Scav Life DLC will be centered around the game’s faction of the same name. In Escape from Tarkov, scavs roam the game’s many maps, trying to take down players with rusty weapons and weak equipment.
Put simply, they’re cannon fodder.
The first major expansion for Escape from Tarkov, the Scav Life DLC, has been touted as an overhaul to the game’s AI characters, rendering them much more realistic for players. That means these scavs will participate in passive activities when not neck-deep in combat.
Nikita also revealed that, when 2027 opens up, we’ll be getting a bunch of new quests that will take players into the pathway to Scav Life, whatever that might look like.
Unfortunately, Nikita did confirm that both the Scav Life and Clan expansions have been pushed back to next year. It’s not clear when next year they’ll surface, so you’ll need to watch this space.
The next big thing on everyone’s radar is the Lighthouse rework that is being actively teased by the team right now.
