Activision has just revealed a new trailer for Modern Warfare 4 at the Tokyo Game Show. Towards the end of the short video, we learn that Mads Mikkelsen has a starring role in the game as an unnamed antagonist. From what it looks like, he’s working against Captain Price in some way, and he promises that everything the legendary SAS trooper loves will die.
This isn’t Mads Mikkelsen’s first brush with gaming, or as a villainous character. His role in Modern Warfare 4 is still pretty vague, and some could argue that introducing him as an important character in the narrative this late in the reboot cycle is a bit weird, but it’s still an impressive personality for Infinity Ward to land.
Mikkelsen Plays a Great Villain
Mads Mikkelsen’s most iconic role in video games is arguably as Clifford Unger in Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding. Because of the nature of character scanning, the unnamed character he plays in Modern Warfare 4 is understandably identical, but that’s fine.
