Loki Mysteriously Vanishes From Marvel Rivals Ahead of Season 10

Marvel Rivals is poised for another seasonal shake-up and a significant absentee has been noticed, with Loki mysteriously vanishing from certain game modes.

The NetEase title continues to be one of the most popular games out there, with Marvel Rivals regularly introducing new characters in each season, but now, one has been mysteriously removed.

Ahead of Season 10’s launch, the God of Mischief has disappeared from certain game modes without much explanation, but the teasers are in plain sight.

Loki Removed From Marvel Rivals Game Modes

As posted by Miller Ross on X, Loki has been disabled in Quick Play, Arcade, Practice vs AI, and 18 vs 18, though he remains available in both the game’s social hubs and competitive modes.

No reason for Loki’s mysterious disappearance has been stated, though the imminent arrival of Gorr the God Butcher in Season 10 is likely the explanation.

Gorr, as seen in the MCU’s Thor: Love & Thunder movie, hunts down and kills various Gods, so it’s understandable that Loki would be in his sights, and it doesn’t suggest good news is on the horizon for Thor and Hela.

The Asgardian Gods could well become the next targets of Gorr and suffer a similar disappearance alongside a subsequent removal from various modes, although an abscene is unlikely to be permanent.

It remains to be seen how long Loki remains out of action for, and whether Thor and Hela will follow suit, but it’s another interesting way for NetEase to tie into the lore of the game.

Previous seasons have seen the lore impact the game in a variety of ways, including Apocalypse killing Gambit, Psylocke, and Wolverine during the Mystery of Thebes, before the trio were later resurrected by Jubilee.

Gorr the God Butcher and Nightcrawler are both widely reported to be the new playable characters coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 10, with more details set to be revealed.
