LFL Set to Have New Organisers Next Year With Talks Ongoing

It appears that the League of Legends French League (LFL), arguably EMEA’s biggest Tier-2 league, will have a new tournament organiser in 2027.

Webedia is set to step down next year, according to LoL creator Thomas ‘Zaboutine’ Si-Hassen on an episode of On Refait Le Nash.

Webedia has been the organiser of the LFL since the French league was originally created back in 2019.

Now, esports agency N.E.O (New Esports Org) are in talks with Riot to take over the league, according to The Esports Radar.

N.E.O Set to Take Over the LFL

Back in December, Bertrand Amar stepped down as Webedia’s Head of Esports before co-founding N.E.O with another former member of Webedia, Matthieu Dallon.

N.EO. brought back LoL Game Changers Rising for a second season, which will take place later this year, after becoming the new organisers for the next two years.

The company is also in charge of the Nova Series women’s tournaments and EMEA Masters, replacing Webedia in that regard too.

Outside of LoL, N.E.O is also in charge of the EVO France fighting games events and EVA Pro League, a virtual-reality-based esports league.

Still, there are worries over how healthy the ERLs are as Webedia is not the first tournament organiser to step away from the tier-2 LoL scene in EMEA this year.

Earlier this year, the NLC faced a long delay after its previous organisers stepped down a few weeks before the Spring Split.

Meanwhile, the Prime League, the ERL  for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), has new organisers too in Berlin-based agency onethreefive gaming GmbH.
