New details reveal how the Grand Theft Auto 6 story will play out and how your choices will affect the main protagonists, Jason and Lucia.
GTA 6 is the most anticipated game of its generation, and it’s also the first time players will get to play through a new GTA story in over a decade. This generation’s campaign will focus on Jason and Lucia in a Bonnie-and-Clyde narrative.
Rockstar Explains GTA 6’s Jason and Lucia Body Systems

However, in the past, player decisions have affected the protagonist’s avatar model; think of fat CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 20 years ago. In this year’s Grand Theft Auto, the developers are once again looking to grant players ultimate freedom while also having some consequences attached to decisions you make.
“The thing we love about this medium is the way these characters aren’t empty avatars that you can do whatever you want with,” says Rob Nelson, head of development and co-studio head at Rockstar North in an interview with Dazed magazine. “Their story becomes a journey you share with them.”
This year’s game will show how your food choices affect Jason and Lucia’s weight. By exercising frequently, we’ll see them visibly build new muscles. If you spend a long time running from the police, their features will reflect that, too.
This kind of interactivity is unique to video games, shaping the virtual world and the player’s responses to it in turn. Between visual feedback mechanisms, deep relationship mechanics, and the heightened realism of the world they inhabit, people might even think twice about going on the arcade-style rampages of GTA games gone by, once they land in Leonida.
GTA VI will receive an official extended look on Netflix on August 27. However, the game has been the subject of massive leaks in recent weeks. Rockstar recently commented on those leaks ahead of the Netflix event.
