GTA 6 Will Be PS5 Pro Enhanced

Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders have officially begun rolling out, with New Zealand players among the first to gain access thanks to the region’s midnight launch schedule. As fans pore over the newly updated store pages, one small detail has seemingly confirmed that GTA 6 will be PS5 Pro Enhanced.

The game has already been marketed as ‘Best on PS5,’ with Sony highlighting features such as the DualSense controller and 3D AudioTech as leading factors, with practically no loading screens stealing the show. However, the PS5 Pro version could scale things up to 11, further cementing PlayStation as the best place to play GTA 6.

What Will GTA 6 PS5 Pro Enhancements Look Like?

Images of the updated PlayStation Store page have begun circulating online, and alongside the option to finally pre-order the game, fans have spotted the PS5 Pro Enhanced tag attached to GTA 6.

Exactly what those enhancements entail remains unclear, but based on other PS5 Pro-supported titles, such as Resident Evil 9, players can likely expect improvements to both image quality and performance through PSSR. Many are already hoping the enhanced hardware will allow GTA 6 to achieve a stable 60fps while maintaining near-4K visual fidelity.

With prices rising for the PS5 Pro, if you don’t already have one, it’ll set you back a whopping $749. It’s up to you whether playing GTA 6 in the best possible way is worth that price, but until it comes to PC, that’ll likely be where it plays best.

For now, though, Rockstar and Sony have yet to outline the specifics, meaning any discussion around frame rates and graphical upgrades remains speculative until an official announcement is made.

What isn’t speculation is the sheer amount of conversation surrounding the game. Alongside the PS5 Pro news, fans have been debating Rockstar’s decision to lock exclusive single-player content behind the Ultimate Edition, while physical media enthusiasts were disappointed to learn that physical copies of GTA 6 will contain a download code rather than a game disc.
