The Grand Theft Auto 6 map is massive.
GTA 6 is under a microscope. Following a 13-year-old game that continues to have massive success across multiple generations, the only way to truly make a splash would be to make its successor bigger.
How Big Is GTA 6’s Map? Rockstar Details Its Vice City Map

Rockstar executives are now promoting the game in the media, and one major talking point is the map’s sheer scope this time around. In interviews, one of the heads of Rockstar North has detailed what to expect from the world.
“There’s a whole lot of stuff that you discover emergently that we’re not necessarily directing you to through objectives or blips or icons on a map as well. If you take a bit of time and explore, you will be rewarded – a lot. It’s a big map, a very big map,” Rob Nelson, co-studio head of Rockstar North, told IGN.
Speaking to Davy Jones (via Flow Games), Nelson explained just how big the map is.
“Vice City [from GTA 6] alone is twice the size of Los Santos from GTA 5. The built-up areas outside the city are actually 11 times the size [of the previous one],” he revealed. This is because the rest of the map will not only consist of rural areas, but also several smaller cities.”
Along with all the previews coming out now, the game was revealed through an extended look on Netflix. Learn more about that here. Sound off about this story and all others in our official Discord server.
