G2 Esports defeated T1 3-1 in a shocking result at MSI 2026, and it was the most-watched League of Legends series of the year so far.
According to Esports Charts, over 2.3 million tuned in to watch the LEC champions take down the reigning LoL World Champions.
It overtook the five-game LCK Road to MSI series between Gen.G and T1, which attracted a peak audience of 2.27 million.
T1 vs Gen.G also led to the most-watched MSI match ever, for now, after over 3.4 million people watched last year’s MSI final.

G2 toplaner Sergen ‘BrokenBlade’ Çelik had the performance of his life.
The series started with BrokenBlade’s Vayne solokilling Choi ‘Doran’ Hyeon-joon in lane, foreshadowing what was about to happen.
BrokenBlade consistently got the better of his lane opponent, but it was his showing in the fourth and final game that will long be remembered.
In a dramatic game that involved another addition to Kim ‘Peyz’ Su-hwan’s LoL pentakill record, it was BrokenBlade who made the biggest difference.
Late into the match, T1 had just won a huge team fight, and it looked like the LCK team were about to force a fifth and final game.
However, BrokenBlade somehow managed to find three solokills as he was being chased, keeping G2 in the game.
G2 then lost another fight in T1’s base as they looked to end, but BrokenBlade was able to rush the nexus with some eventual help from Rudy ‘SkewMond’ Semaan to secure the historic victory.
BrokenBlade finished the series with a combined KDA of 32/18/25, six solokills, and an average gold lead at 14 minutes of just under 600 gold.
