Future of Marvel’s Blade Addressed by Todd Howard

There are so many games being announced that older reveals have been left to gather dust. Marvel’s Blade is one fine example, with the popular comic book hero’s own game staying radio silent for two years, but we’ve had a promising update from Bethesda director Todd Howard.

Marvel’s Blade has taken a massive backseat to Wolverine, with the PlayStation-exclusive title rightly earning the attention and hype ahead of its 2026 launch. At least it has a launch date, trailers, and gameplay, and pretty much everything. Whereas Blade fans have been left to prowl the streets in search of any strands of info.

We wondered where Arkane would go after the disastrous Redfall, and it was nice to see the studio’s name pop up in 2023 alongside the new Blade game.

The first trailer was fun, but it was a cinematic teaser with no substance.

An update in 2025 indicated that Marvel’s Blade devs were ‘Super Proud’ of the ‘Special Game.’ Again, it didn’t offer much, but now, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Todd Howard has given everyone a new update:

“I’m not at liberty to say when [we’ll see more], but I saw some stuff just yesterday, and the folks at Arkane [Studios, the developers] are doing a really, really great job.”

The comment was actually given in May, but published recently, which means the game will be even further along than it already is, and it sounds like it’s progressing nicely!

Let’s hope we don’t have to wait much longer for a new update, and a second trailer wouldn’t be too much to ask, right?

It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since Blade was announced. You would be forgiven if you’ve forgotten what it actually looked like! Here’s the reveal trailer.
