Fortnite has returned to the Apple App Store once again worldwide, as the battle between Epic Games and Apple enters the ‘final battle’ of a long-running legal dispute.

Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, has argued that Apple‘s practice of banning alternative app stores is unlawful, in a case that has made waves across the world and could have deeper implications, once resolved.

While that battle edges towards one last push, Fortnite is back in the Apple App Store once again, Epic Games has confirmed.

Fortnite Back on App Store

In an announcement in the Epic Newsroom, it was stated that Apple has told the US Supreme Court that “regulators around the world are watching this case to determine what commission rate Apple may charge on covered purchases in huge markets outside the United States.

Epic Games added that Fortnite is returning to the App Store as they are “confident that once Apple is forced to show its costs, governments around the world will not allow Apple junk fees to stand.”

Changes across the world so far, in Japan, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, were referenced, while it was added that there isn’t a return to the Australian App Store yet, despite Epic winning its case against Apple and the court ruling the developer terms to be unlawful, though they are still being forced.

On X, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney stated that the return of Fortnite comes ahead of the “final battle of Epic v Apple in court,” adding that Apple has “fragmented iOS features and fees by territory, regulatory negotiating positions in secret, and intentionally delaying the pursuit of justice.”
