The Esports Foundation has just released a new trailer for the Esports World Cup 2026, dubbed ‘Greatness Recognizes Greatness’, and it’s both fronted and narrated by the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. The short video was published ahead of the kick-off of the Esports World Cup, which takes place in Paris this year and not in Saudi Arabia.

It’s a great look at the financial power of the Esports Foundation, as it features the acting talents of, quite simply, the biggest names in esports… And Ronaldo, of course.

The Esports World Cup 2026 is About to Start

Ronaldo is often considered the GOAT of soccer (or football) by many millions of fans around the world. Last year, he signed on as ambassador for the Esports World Cup, and that deal has naturally run into this year’s event.

The newest trailer from the Esports Foundation, recorded and published to celebrate the imminent arrival of the biggest tournament circuit in esports, features Ronaldo, Faker, ZywOo, Magnus Carlsen, KarlTzy, and YiNuo, making for one hell of a star-studded line-up.

Here’s the trailer:

The Esports World Cup is the most lucrative and valuable tournament ecosystem in the world, boasting a jaw-dropping prize pool worth a collective $75 million. A massive $30 million of that is reserved exclusively for the Club Championship portion of the event, which will award one organization an incredible $7 million.

There are 25 events set to land during the event, which spans July 6 to August 23, including Apex Legends, Counter-Strike, Chess, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, League of Legends, and many, many more.
