There have been reports of a rumored project/codename under the The Witcher umbrella called ‘Sirius.’ Now, proper details about the new Witcher game have allegedly been revealed, pulling back the curtain on its platforms and what to expect.

The Witcher fans are eating good at the moment. A Witcher 3 expansion mod is in the works, but in terms of official content, there’s the upcoming Witcher 3 Songs of the Past Expansion, and of course, the long-awaited The Witcher 4 launch.

We aren’t done there, though, as another Witcher game is in development.

The unannounced The Witcher game is multiplayer-only, which is a significant departure from the franchise’s previous releases, but it could work if executed correctly.

According to MP1st sources, this is a ‘brand-new game set in The Witcher universe as a free-to-play co-op action RPG currently in development, and not only this, but: ‘This unannounced project currently targets only PC and mobile devices, with no mention of console platforms.’

Check out even more details on Project Sirius:

‘The story is set in the year 1230, during a time when Geralt was still a young witcher. The game will put you in the boots of your very own customizable witcher, featuring the standard options you’d expect from a multiplayer experience, like gender and appearance customization.

Gameplay-wise, the title will take you on contracts to kill monsters across several environments that players have come to expect from the series, such as dark forests, vibrant villages, and haunted ruins. A skill-based system drives the combat mechanics, letting you choose abilities from different Witcher schools, shaping your moveset by mastering Signs and brewing potions. This combat is said to reward player skill with well-timed blocks, dodges, parries, and executions.’

So, it sounds very reminiscent of the mainline games. The multiplayer twist won’t be for everyone, so it’s unlikely that it will hit the heights of The Witcher 3, or even The Witcher 4, but it could be a must-buy experience for Witcher fans.

Fingers crossed we get official confirmation on the mysterious game soon—and you can hear about it here at Insider Gaming!
