Fable’s new release date is confirmed. At the end of May 2026, XBOX confirmed that Fable was being delayed from its previously announced autumn 2026 release window. It was rumored that the game had been delayed internally due to concerns about launching too close to Grand Theft Auto 6.
Now, it was announced during the XBOX June Showcase that the game will be released on February 23, 2027. The announcement came at the end of a new trailer suggesting that this world doesn’t need any more heroes, but more villains.
XBOX has already announced several games for the back half of 2026, including multiple games coming to XBOX Game Pass on day one. Gears of War: E-Day was even announced as a console exclusive. Fable has always been associated with the Xbox console, but it is coming to PS5 in 2027 as well. Plus, it is under consideration for the Nintendo Switch 2.
