Rocket League Season 23 is coming soon and is going to be themed around the upcoming football World Cup.
Epic Games and Psyonix have released full details about what Rocket League fans can look forward to in the upcoming update.
There is a lot of buzz surrounding the game following the RLCS Paris Major and the announcement of Unreal Engine 6.
As well as World Cup cosmetics, the update is also bringing huge quality-of-life improvements to the game, including side-selection after a demo.
Here is everything new coming in Rocket League Season 23.
Rocket League Season 23 Release Date
Rocket League Season 23 will release on Wednesday, June 10 at 9:00 AM PT (12:00 PM EDT).
Rocket League World Cup Content
Unlike EA Sports FC 26’s World Cup mode, Epic Games has secured the FIFA World Cup 2026 licensing for Rocket League.
The Rocket League x FIFA World Cup 2026 limited-time event (LTE) will run until July 20, 9 AM PT.
It will also see the release of a World Cup-themed Arena Variant called United Futura.
Once Season 23 releases, players will be able to pick their nation by July 13 9:00 AM PT (12:00 PM EDT) to claim a free Octane Decal and Title.
This decal will track players’ performances for a global leaderboard.
Once the World Cup ends, every player will receive a “World Cup Champion” Player Title, with the winning country’s flag, and all 47 other World Cup Decals.
Players who played for the winning country will also receive a gold variant of the title.
Additionally, LTE Challenges will reward a Goal Explosion, a Boost, and a universal Decal celebrating the football tournament.
Completing 10 out of the 14 World Cup Challenges will then unlock the Hyundai Ioniq 6 Car Body.
Rocket League Quality of Life Upgrades
As well as the World Cup content, Psyonix is also adding a ton of quality-of-life improvements to the 10-year-old game.
In possibly one of the biggest changes ever, Rocket League will now allow players to choose what side they respawn on.
The total list of new features coming in Rocket League Season 23 are:
- Demo Respawn Control
- Custom Training Velocity and Car Pitch, and Local Starting Boost Control
- Ball and Car Speed Graphs
- Streamer Anonymizer
- Hitbox Visualization
- Auto-Skip Goal Replays
- Improved Friend Presence to include score and time remaining
- Goal Scorer’s View in Replays
Rocket League Jynxzi Event
Rocket League is also partnering with content creator Nicholas ‘Jynxzi’ Stewart for a mini event.
Those who end up in a match with the popular streamer will receive Jynxzi-themed cosmetics.
If you win on the same team as Jynxzi, you’ll get the Dad’s Reinforced Chair. Defeat him, and you’ll get the Jynxzi’s OG Chair Topper.
Win or Lose, you’ll also receive the BAZALRIGHT Decal.
Rocket Pass Premium
Season 23’s Rocket Pass Premium will unlock two new vehicles:
- •Ryza Trophy (Octane Hitbox) – first unlock
- •Ryza T60 (Breakout Hitbox) – in the higher Tiers
The Pass also features new Boosts, new Trails, fresh Antennas, and Player Anthems built for the season.
