Embark Studios Just Changed ARC Raiders’ Snitches In The Worst Way

ARC Raiders sits in a relatively silent place at the moment. The team at Embark Studios is just pushing out small, business-as-usual updates to fill the void until October’s supermassive Frozen Trail update arrives, and that doesn’t sit well with everyone. Many feel the game is on the way out, despite not having been on the market for a full year just yet.

Despite that sentiment, Embark Studios is trying to keep the game afloat by issuing small, piecemeal changes. One such change landed today with the 1.42.0 update, which has seen the team take the relatively irritating Snitch and make it ten times worse.

We Didn’t See This Coming

The Snitch has been one of the more annoying ARC enemies in the popular extraction adventure title since it hit the market in October 2025. For those not in the know, a Snitch has almost zero offensive or defensive abilities, and it just floats aimlessly around the map, scanning for enemies.

When it finds them, it lets off a shrill alert and summons more capable ARC constructs – usually two Wasps and a Hornet.

As of today, that has changed.

With the 1.42.0 update, Embark Studios has made it so that the Snitch can also summon a freaking Rocketeer, one of the most lethal ARC enemies in the game, or a combination of a Firefly and a Hornet. That latter pair is less troublesome, but the Firefly is still able to cook you to a crisp if you’re not well equipped.

What’s more frustrating with this change is that there’s no indication of what the Snitch will summon when it does call them in. You’re rolling the dice, and you could end up facing down three relatively simple-to-defeat enemies, or one of the most aggressive, powerful ARC machines in the game.

That’s just great.

And let’s not forget that you need to defeat Snitches to obtain their Snitch Scanner for various quests and crafts, or for Trials and other challenges.

What’s the best way to kill a Snitch without triggering the alarm? Hit them hard, and hit them fast. That’s about it.
