Does Phantom Blade Zero Have a Physical Copy? Disc Status, Explained

A couple of years ago, asking about a physical disc copy for a game wasn’t a thing, as it didn’t need to be. In 2026, it’s everything, due to various developments. To see if Phantom Blade Zero has a disc option, read on for full details.

Phantom Blade Zero is S-GAME’s take on a modern-day action game, featuring hints of extreme Souls difficulty but blending the fast, combo nature of Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry. It’s been promoted heavily for months, and once pre-order details went up, everyone asked about a physical disc.

Can You Buy A Physical Copy of Phantom Blade Zero?

It’s not official, but it doesn’t look like Phantom Blade Zero is getting a physical version anytime soon, which means no disc and no tangible copy of the game.

The whole Sony disc and digital conversation has now raised the same question for every big new game: Disc or no disc, that is the question.

Phantom Blade Zero is one of the year’s biggest final games, and right now, it seems you can only buy pre-order digital versions on PS5 and PC. It’s more affordable compared to other AAA games, and it looks to be packed with content.

But if you want to buy it, for the time being, you’ll have to go digital.

Will Phantom Blade Zero Get A Physical Edition?

It’s a complete mystery concerning Phantom Blade Zero’s future physical edition status, with suggestions that it’s still to be announced or that it isn’t getting one at all.

As pointed out by Genki, Phantom Blade Zero’s PlayStation advertising seems to have pivoted.

One line seems to have been removed: ‘Design and specifications are subject to change.’ Perhaps decisions have now changed, which perhaps leans into the physical edition dynamic.

Furthermore, Genki also believes that S-GAME being the publisher as well as the developer could also have an impact on the lack of a disc version.

At the time of writing, we are coming up to Phantom Blade Zero’s August 2026 State of Play Gameplay Deep Dive. The physical edition could be announced during or at the end of it.

For now, we’ll go on the basis that Phantom Blade Zero is foregoing a physical edition, but we’ll update you if there are any developments on this front.
