Fireshine Games is touting Denshattack’s success after about a month on the market. Denshattack! is an arcade-style game that feels like a spiritual successor to games like Jet Set Radio. It’s a skateboarding game with skateboarding trains; it’s colorful, it’s bright, and it feels straight out of the early 2000s.
That said, it’s been critically praised, and the publisher is now celebrating its early success.
Denshattack! Tops 300K Players After July Launch

Fireshine Games revealed that Denshattack! has sold more than 150,000 copies worldwide and drawn more than 300,000 total players. They also tout the game’s 98 percent positive user review score on Steam and an 88 aggregate score on Metacritic.
Fireshine’s chief marketing officer, Sarah Hoeksma, praises the game for exceeding expectations and delivering remarkable value. Fireshine also published another recent indie success story, Duskfade. Hoeksma also praised that game for reimagining what modern games can be.
“The response to Denshattack! has been tremendous,” said Sarah Hoeksma, chief marketing officer at Fireshine Games. “Denshattack! delivers a fearless, bold celebration of classic video game fun that went above and beyond expectations this summer, while delivering remarkable value to players. The fan response has been an incredible addition to the Fireshine label, which continues to deliver outstanding quality games like Far Far West and Duskfade, games that harness what a modern game can and should be – without breaking the budget in terms of development or consumer pricing.”
The game is currently available on PC, XBOX Series X|S, the Sony PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch 2. Have you played the game? If so, what do you think about it so far? Sound off about this story and all others in our official Discord server.
