Just two months after revealing the studio’s first game, Crossfire, developer That’s No Moon has held layoffs affecting over a dozen employees.
Former employees started posting on Thursday, August 6, that they had been let go. According to one former employee who spoke to Insider Gaming, 14 people were let go.
Crossfire Was Just Revealed
As of publication, That’s No Moon hasn’t confirmed the layoffs. There’s also been no reason given for the layoffs, though it’s believed to have been financially motivated.
Crossfire was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026 in June. As part of its reveal, That’s No Moon showed off a brand new system called Adaptive Cover that rewards stealth, reactive thinking, and critical thinking. The game was given a prominent spot during the showcase, giving players a look at the story and gameplay elements.
A release date, however, wasn’t given at the time, nor has it been announced in the weeks that followed.
You can check out the description for Crossfire below:
Layla, a gun-for-hire, is on a reconnaissance contract in the Atlas Mountains that quickly devolves into a harrowing struggle she cannot overcome alone. Cross is an opposing operator, trained, lethal, and the last person Layla would choose to trust. But trust isn’t the point. Making it out alive is. Fighting for survival and their own humanity, the pair’s fraught alliance is the only chance at overcoming the existential threat ahead.
