Remedy’s Control Resonant is receiving a PS5-exclusive early access period.
Control Resonant received a release date during the PlayStation State of Play presentation on June 2, 2026. The game will release worldwide on September 24 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, PlayStation players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will be able to play slightly earlier.
The official PlayStation blog post covering the game’s latest information revealed a 48-hour Early Access window that is not present for PC players. Additionally, Thomas Puha, a Remedy executive, confirmed that the early access grace period is exclusive to PlayStation.
Pre-orders for Control Resonant are available today. The PlayStation 5 Digital Deluxe Edition includes 48 hours of advance access.
Backlash to Control Resonant Launching Early on PS5 Before Other Platforms
In some of the immediate responses to Puha, players who pre-ordered the game on other platforms expressed their displeasure and talked of canceling their orders.
As for the plot, this will be a follow-up to the 2019 game. This time around, players will follow Dylan Faden, and, much like in the first game, while his story drives the main plot, his sibling will shape the path. As the official blog describes, “The Fadens’ arcs revolve around each other, and that’s what propels their shared story. Both games are, ultimately, about the siblings confronting their destinies. Dylan’s journey is shaped by Jesse’s actions as humanity meets a new existential threat. She remains central and has a presence in the game, but he’s the one moving the story forward.”
