CODE EXIT Gameplay Trailer Ahead Of Demo Release—Insider Access

CODE EXIT is an upcoming sci-fi co-op survival horror game where you and up to three friends must survive a supercomputer that learns from your every step. As part of Insider Gaming’s Insider Access series, we are exclusively revealing CODE EXIT’s first full gameplay trailer ahead of the game’s demo release on May 19.

What sets Code Exit apart from other horror games, according to the team at Phase 8 Studio, is how they are attempting to make sure the game never feels repetitive.

“The nature of fear and threats shifts dynamically based on where players move, where they hide, and how they choose to assist their teammates,” Phase 8 told Insider Gaming. “As a result, every session unfolds into a completely unique series of events. This environment is constantly monitored by the in-game entity, the AI Minerva. Because every player action is recorded and reflected in the gameplay, this isn’t just a game about “avoiding fixed patterns”, it’s an experience where the situation itself is in a constant state of flux.”

As far as the new demo goes, it serves as a first impression of the experience the developers are looking to build.

Phase 8 says that they want players to feel that the situation they encountered was unique to their team, rather than just experiencing a jump scare.

“For instance, a crisis triggered by one person’s minor mistake can quickly spiral to the whole team, only for another teammate to flip the script with a split-second decision,” they said. “We want them to feel that tension as everyone chooses a final direction right before the escape. These flows are not scripted sequences—they are the results of player choices.”

Code Exit, which is scheduled to release in 2027, is available to wishlist now on Steam.
