According to a reliable source, Call of Duty’s next update is expected to reduce the game’s size by 100 GB.
Call of Duty has been preparing a lot of new content and additional benefits for its upcoming Season 5 Reloaded. We recently learned that, along with a new multiplayer map, more Zombies content, and new and returning modes, players will also receive 20 Battle Pass Tier skips. Now, it has been claimed that the COD’s game size will also drop by 100GB in a future update.
Call of Duty Will Be 25 GB on the PS5 After the Next Update
According to a new post on X (formerly Twitter) by PlayStation Game Size, Call of Duty’s update 01.080.000 has been added to the database. The size of the update hasn’t been revealed, but it has been stated that it will bring Call of Duty’s size on PS5 down to 25.377 GB from the original 126.224 GB. On the PS4, the size was previously 81 GB and will be reduced to 62 GB. How the size reduction would be achieved was not clarified.
The same account revealed more details about the upcoming update in a new post. It states that Call of Duty’s update 1.80 will make the game’s multiplayer mode optional. The size of this mode will be 38.751 GB, and it will become optional to download. As always, as this information doesn’t come from an official source, readers should take it with a grain of salt. However, if this is true, it will ultimately address one of the most prominent complaints players have had about Call of Duty in recent years.
In other news, Paramount and Activision have agreed on a deal that will see the creation of a live-action Call of Duty movie. Also, Black Ops 6 skins will not carry over to Black Ops 7.
